On May 15, 1980, the Enterprise for Research and Production of Aircraft Devices and Equipment was established, with the object of activity being scientific research, constructive and technological design, as well as the production of aircraft devices and equipment.

The name was kept only until 1985 when it became the Aerospace Equipment Enterprise “AEROFINA” Bucharest.

By Decree of the Council of State of the Republic of Romania, no. 165/1980, the Research and Production Enterprise for Aircraft Devices and Equipment, headquartered in Bucharest, was established starting on May 15, 1980, having as its object of activity scientific research, constructive and technological design as well as the production of aircraft devices and equipment.

In July 1997, by Decision of the Government of Romania no. 324/1997 regarding the establishment of the Autonomous Company “Arsenalul Armatei” and of some commercial companies through the reorganization of some autonomous companies, the Commercial Company “AEROFINA” S.A. was established.

After a period of several years of privatization attempts, on 14.01.2000, S.C. AEROFINA S.A. becomes a company with entirely private Romanian capital, headquartered at 2-4 Soseaua Fabrica de Glucoza Street, Sector 2, Bucharest.

Since 2008, the company has been relocating to the new location in Sos. Fabrica de Glucoza no. 2-4, and continues its core activity in the aeronautical industry, while at the same time expanding its involvement and development efforts in the railway industry.

As a result of the constant increase in turnover, and consequently the need for development, in 2013 the company acquired a new location in the Ghimbav industrial area, in the vicinity of one of our main clients IAR Brasov.

In order to transfer part of the activity to the new location, AEROFINA carried out a series of maintenance and modernization works of the building, through its own efforts, with funds from the profit made, with the aim that in the near future the location will be put into operation.
